Varsity Continues Winning Ways with 4-0 Victory over Avon

The Noblesville Varsity team was down at Avon this evening for their third official game of the season.

The game started off poorly for the Millers, who gave up multiple chances in the first 15’. Goalkeeper Cole Thompson came up big on multiple occasions to keep the match level. The Miller’s offense was kept out of the net by some heroics on Avon’s part.

The second half was a different story. The Millers were still pressing on for a goal. The breakthrough came on a freekick from Noah Bernot who found Luke Odle’s head for his first goal of the season. One minute later, senior Sam Divis and AJ Tippner forced an Avon own goal off of a cross which was headed towards Tippner’s foot for a tap in. Immediately after that, Divis cut in on his right foot and fired a shot towards the back corner of the Avon net, giving the Millers a 3-0 lead.

Luke Odle sealed the deal for the Millers later on in the 78’ with another goal off of a corner from Noah Adams. The ball bounced around the box and Odle put it in.

The Millers have their annual pink-out game this Thursday versus Brebeuf supporting the Megan S. Ott foundation.
