The Millers were at the Carmel Greyhounds at their River Road complex this evening for a battle between two soccer powerhouses.
JV Gold started off slowly, but made their way into the game slowly but surely. The first half was an even affair with multiple shots being saved by each of the goalies. Defender Jake Hall had a shot saved right on the line by the Carmel goalkeeper from a well earned free kick. Midfielders Owen Ott and Blake Horn both contributed for the entire 70 minutes with some vital stops throughout the game.
The second half started to see things get chippy between the two teams with a handful of yellow cards being handed out throughout. However, five minutes into the second half, attacker Carson Mertens found the back of the net as the ball went right through the goalies hands.
The Millers kept defending for most of the second half as the pressure wore on. Goalie Caedmon Foster played the entire game making some incredible saves and keeping the Millers in the game multiple times.
JV Gold improves to 3-0 on the season with two more games this week to test their season. Come out and support them at home on Wednesday and Thursday versus Roncalli and Avon.
