JV Black remains undefeated in beating Avon 2-0

The Millers had their first home game of the season tonight versus Avon.

In the first half the JV Black squad started off sluggishly, struggling to complete passes and control the game. After about 15 minutes, they started to pick up their level of play and connect with each other and show some skill. The half ended at a draw, with neither team creating many chances.

The second half saw the Millers working better together and creating more chances overall, while stifling any opportunity that arose for the Avon team. The breakthrough came about halfway through the second half with a goal from Vince Cash off of a freekick from about 25 yards out. The Millers kept pushing their advantage and scored in the last minute of the match with a goal from Carson Mertens assisted by Braden Lindley.

The Millers play again next Tuesday at Fishers.
